Macomb County Community Mental Health Announces New Chief Privacy & Compliance Officer:

Chandra Cozart brings over a decade of experience in non-profit leadership to the organization
 

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (December 9, 2024) – Macomb County Community Mental Health (MCCMH) announced today Chandra Cozart as its new Chief Privacy & Compliance Officer.  

“We are thrilled to welcome Cozart to the team,” said Traci Smith, CEO of MCCMH. “Her expertise and dedication to improving outcomes for the people we serve will be invaluable as we work to maintain the highest levels of compliance.” 

In this important role, Cozart will monitor MCCMH’s compliance assessment activities. She will provide guidance on policy development, write new policies and procedures, and contribute to strategic planning to ensure collaboration, accountability, and a people-centered approach. 

“I am excited to join MCCMH and contribute to our commitment to compliance,” said Cozart. “By working together, we can create a culture where everyone feels empowered to uphold the highest standards of care.” 

Cozart has approximately 15 years of experience in regulatory compliance, strategic planning, contract management, risk management, and legal advocacy. In her last role, she served as the supervising attorney of Lakeshore Legal Aid, Inc., where she led a team of legal professionals representing low-income and senior clients in various areas of law while integrating trauma-informed practices. Cozart received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan and her Juris Doctorate at the University of Detroit Mercy Law. She is a certified mediator and independent facilitator.
