The Urgent Behavioral Health Center helps resolve crisis situations of all kinds by offering individual crisis response, family support, links to resources, and help to access mental health services and crisis alternatives.  Our goal is to stabilize the situation so a person in crisis can return home safely, with plans and resources to manage any ongoing needs.

The Urgent Behavioral Health Center will provide an immediate assessment to determine mental health care needs. Services will be scheduled according to needs. The UBHC offers a variety of services including: assessment, medication management, crisis intervention, referral for ongoing services, peer support, and resource assistance for those with Medicaid insurance. To schedule a same day/next day appointment, call ACCESS (586) 948-0222.

Already have an appointment at one of our clinics ?

If you’ve already contacted the Access Center by phone and they have made an appointment for you at one of our clinic sites, it’s not necessary to go to the UBHC, unless you feel you need immediate help.  If you want to change an appointment that has been scheduled for you by the Access Center, call them back at 586- 948-0222 to request the change. 

Eligibility

You may be eligible for specialty mental health services provided by MCCMH if you are a resident of Macomb County and:

  • You have ever been told by a doctor that you have what is called a “serious mental illness;” or you have a history of serious mental illness,

  • You believe you may have one of these conditions, but haven't been tested,

  • Your child has or may have one of these conditions,

  • You have Medicaid or Healthy Michigan insurance.

 

The specific programs and services offered by the MCCMH network may have their own eligibility requirements, in addition to those above.
